About These Recipes

13th January, 2008 - Tim Chard

Just to let you know. I consider all these recipes mine although inevitably they are remakes of others. So ownership I do not claim. But oh the aroma. I will just keep the aromas.

Asparamon

As Made By Me - Tim Chard

Ingredients:
One packet of finely shaved Smoked Salmon - 100 -150grams
Two bundles of Asparagus shoots - 20-24
One packet of Camembert Cheese - Your Favourite
One Lemon - Not Lemon in a Bottle

You Will Need:
One large saucepan
Olive Oil
Butter
A good sharp knife
Two dozen or so tooth picks.

Method:
Cut the Camembert into thin slathers.

Put a capful of Olive oil in a fry pan + one teaspoon of butter. Bring the heat to half full.

Throw the Asparagus shoots in the frypan after breaking off the stringy bit. (bend in middle till they snap)

As the Asparagus cook, roll them over continuously. They will only need about 3 minutes in all to cook.

Towards the end of the 3 minutes put your Smoked salmon on top of the Asparagus. Since the Salmon is already cooked we are just warming it up. Be careful though that you don't break it up.

Finally take the frypan off the heat and onto the bench.

On a plate, place a slither of Salmon. Place a shoot of Asparagus in the middle and a piece of camembert on that.* Wrap the Salmon up and stick a toothpick through to hold it.

Serve with a few drops of lemon drizzled on top. Mmmmm...

* For a more delicate taste, slice off the outer crust of the Camembert. THis is a little messy but if you place the Camembert in the freezer for 10 - 15 minutes prior it is then a little more solid. Leave out once cut to bring it back to room temperature.
