So I have been a bit busy writing my new book. The process is taking longer than I had anticipated but never the less the extra time has allowed me to edit out the crap and tidy up whats left.
I took a weekend break to Washpool National Park this weekend just gone. I doesn't matter how often I go, I always find something new that inspires me. This time was no different. The thought came to me that our minds are exactly like the environment. In fact, the little 'eco-system' that we have up there is under threat by our mis-treatment of the real environment. I have put my thoughts on paper and I will post in my blog the thoughts that I have had. Then you can agree or disagree.
The thought came to me that our minds are exactly like the environment.
While I was at Washpool, I was able to snap some great pics. You can find them here. The water was a little chilly, but the jog back to camp warmed me up. I completed the 8.5km walk in about 6 hours. The many stops for photo ops caused delay but I didn't mind, it was well worth it.
I met Peter from Canberra while I was there. He was a wonderful fellow who was in the area searching for a little known Grasshopper. Being useless with remembering the little details, I cannot recall the name of it. We had a beer and a conversation on the Friday night. I have never met someone so keen and knowledgeable. (Apart from me!! LOL - Boof! There goes my head again. LOL) His effervescence was quite contagious. Anyway, he told me about a red mushroom he had seen about 4km away, so on the Saturday I packed my day pack and headed out. I did find it, but unfortunately something had had a nibble at it and it was a little worse for wear.
I love the rainforest environment. I don't much like the night though. I know that nothing will get me, it's just the noises. The possums came and visited just before bed. The Bush Turkey came when I had gone for a number 2 and ate all my bananas. I saw three male Lyre Birds, but wasn't quick enough to get a shot off. Last time I was there a female Lyre Bird came right up to me while I was sitting down about 3 km from camp. I managed to get some video of it. It's all great. Saw a riflebird, A male King Parrot feeding one of his offspring and counted 68 skinks on my long walk. There were at least 2 varieties, of which one was almost black with a very bright yellow strip from head to tail on either side of his body. Almost ran over a 6 foot Red Bellied Black Snake. Got a video of him basking in the sun but no pictures, sorry. Among the Fungi I found a few great specimens that I had not seen before. One has two stalks held together with a thin mucus film under one brown cap. I almost tripped over a great big bush cockroach. He was about 2 1/2 inchs long. The photo collection can be found here.
There is no such thing as negative emotion. It is our understanding of the emotion that can make it negative,
I have many interests. I love getting in the kitchen and creating great food, hence the recipes page. I love taking photos, not that that means they are good, but check out the gallery anyway. Occasionally, I write a little; poetry, stories, rants, etc. You check out some of my poetry here. Have read and let me know what you think. My main interest in life, is Human Emotions. At this present time I am exploring emotion mirroring. I am compiling my 'discoveries' into a useable self-help manual for people interested in taking control of themselves. But enough about that. I have myEmote blog happening, just have to post there, and it will contain some of my more real strategies, ideas, etc for personal emotional development.
